Our Story.
The Sundre Bike n Ski Club was established in 2015 by a group of local residents who are passionate about outdoor activities and recognize the potential of the amazing terrain in our town. We believe in sustainable and multi-use trail systems that are family-friendly and cater to varying skill levels, while prioritizing safety and usability.
Our dynamic and energetic group has innovative ideas and the determination to see them through. We identify with the pioneering and industrious spirit that has shaped Sundre into what it is today. As avid skiers and bikers, we are committed to staying active in both mind and body, and look forward to continuing to invigorate our community.
From our humble beginnings, we’ve grown into a vibrant community hub for outdoor activities in Sundre. We’ve worked tirelessly to expand our trail network, organize events, and promote outdoor activities in our community. From our popular Kids of Mud MTB Training Program to the Jackrabbits XC Ski Program, we’ve created opportunities for everyone to get involved and enjoy the great outdoors.
Today, the Sundre Bike n Ski Club is more than just a club - it’s a community. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and we’re excited about what the future holds. As we look forward to new trails, new adventures, and new members, we’re committed to staying true to our roots: fostering a love for outdoor adventure and building a strong, inclusive community.

SBNSC Founded.
Group of residents start club in an effort to promote bike, skiing, and Trail advocacy in Sundre.
Spring 2015.
Tuesday Evening Group Rides.
Group MTB Ride Program starts at Greenwood Campground.
Fall 2016.
Take a Kid MTB Day Event.
Club organizes Take a Kid MTB day.
Winter 2016.
Inaugural XC Ski Grooming Program.
Approval from the Town of Sundre to begin grooming XC Ski trails. Assisted by RVS for use of Snowmobile and Grooming equipment.
Winter 2016.
Jackrabbits XC Ski Program.
Youth program sanctioned by Nordic Alberta. Sundre Rodeo Association grants annual winter use of the rodeo grounds. RVS rents ski inventory, and storage use to club.
Winter 2018.
Snow Dog Fat Bike Groomer.
With the assistance of Bryan McBain, Club Acquires Winter Fat Bike Trail Groomer.
Spring 2018.
Club Purchases Rental XC Skiis.
Club purchases new inventory of xc skiis from Lifesport for Lesson Rentals.
Summer 2020.
Shell Legacy Grant.
Club receives 15,000$ grant from shell with plans to build club owned storage area and Winter Grooming Equipment.
Fall 2021.
Construction of Storage Shed.
SBNSC Builds Red Storage Shed located on rodeo grounds.
Summer 2021.
Trailblazers Youth Racing Event.
SBNSC hosts First Trailblazers event on Snake Hill Rec Area.

Ginzu Groomer.
XC Ski Groomer Purchased Enabling Grooming for Both Skate and Classic XC Skiing at the Same Time.
Spring 2023.
Trailblazers Slither & Alberta Cup MTB Race Event.
SBNSC Co-Hosted Sundre’s First Alberta Bike Association - Sanctioned MTB Race.

Snakes & Ladders Cyclocross Course Awarded
Venue of the Year by ABA.
Winter 2024.
Trailforks Overhaul.
Club Granted Admin for Sundre Region on Trailforks. Adds all current trail inventory for double wide and single track trails. Winter Trail Classifications Layers added for Fat Biking and XC Skiing.
